Which format to choose
Round robin
Every pair plays every other pair once and a table ranks them. The usual format for club tournaments with fixed pairs, also called Team Americano. Nobody goes home after one bad match. Six pairs play 15 matches over 5 rounds.
Knockout
A single elimination bracket, as in the professional tour draws. Quick: eight pairs need seven matches. Pick it when courts or time are short.
Americano
The social favourite: enter players, not pairs. Partners change every round, each match is played to a set number of points such as 24, and every player keeps the points their side won. With 8 players, everyone partners everyone once and faces every other player exactly twice over 7 rounds.
How it works
- Type each pair into its own field: a team name, or both players, such as Ana / Bea. For Americano, type single players instead. A new field appears as you fill one; paste a list or separate pairs with commas to add several at once. In a hurry? Leave the names empty, set how many, and draw: the page numbers them Team 1 to Team 24, and on court everyone picks a number.
- Choose the format and how many courts you have. Americano also asks for the points per match.
- Press Random draw, or Use my order to pair the list as you typed it.
- Change any pairing with the team menus. The team you replace takes the other place, so nobody plays twice in one round. Each match has a court menu too.
- Enter one number per pair when a match ends: games for a one-set match, points for a timed one. Reset scores clears every result and keeps the draw; New tournament goes back to the teams.

Padel tournament questions
What is the most common padel tournament format?
For club events with fixed pairs, round robin: every pair plays every other and a table ranks them. Social nights with rotating partners usually run Americano. Official tours use knockout draws.
How many matches does a round robin need?
The number of pairs times one less, halved. Four pairs play 6 matches, six pairs 15, eight pairs 28. With an odd number of pairs, one pair sits out each round.
How are byes handled in a knockout?
The bracket is rounded up to 4, 8, 16 or 32 places, and the empty places become byes. They are spread across the draw, so pairs with a bye meet each other as late as the numbers allow.
How does Americano scoring work?
Each match is played to a fixed total of points, often 24 or 32, shared between the two sides. Every player keeps the points their side won, and whoever has the most after the last round wins. Enter one side's score and the other fills itself in.
How is the table ranked?
Round robin: three points for a win and one for a draw, then score difference, then total score. Americano: total points won, then matches won, then point difference.
Is my tournament saved?
Yes, in this browser's local storage after every change, so reloading or closing the tab keeps it. It is not sent anywhere: another phone will not see it, and clearing the site's data deletes it.
